How to use this agreement: Sit down together and fill this in as a conversation, not a lecture. Let your child contribute to every section — agreements children help create are far more likely to be followed than ones imposed on them. Review it every 3 months as they grow.

Section 1 — Platforms & Apps
The apps I am allowed to use are:
I will not create accounts on any new platforms without asking first
My accounts will be set to private unless we have agreed otherwise
A parent can ask to see my profile and messages at any reasonable time
I will not share my location or post anything that shows where I live or go to school

Section 2 — Screen Time & Boundaries
On school days I can use social media for: minutes/hours
At weekends the agreed limit is:
No devices at mealtimes — phones go in:
All devices off and charged outside the bedroom by: pm
Homework must be finished before any social media time on school days

I will only accept follow requests from people I know in real life
I will not post, share or comment anything I wouldn't be happy for my family to see
If I see something upsetting or inappropriate, I will tell a parent — I won't handle it alone
I will not be unkind to others online — this includes leaving people out intentionally
I will not share personal information (full name, school, address, phone) with anyone online

Section 4 — What Parents Agree To
We will not snoop without reason — we'll ask first before checking your phone
We will not overreact if you tell us something difficult — we want you to feel safe coming to us
We will follow the same rules we ask you to follow at mealtimes and before bed
We will review this agreement with you every 3 months and update it as you grow
We will listen before we judge if something goes wrong online
